San Bernardino County Land Use Services – Code Enforcement, in partnership with the County’s Solid Waste Management Division, is hosting a free Neighborhood Cleanup Event on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (or earlier if equipment reaches capacity). The event will be held at the Newberry Springs Senior Center, located at 33383 Newberry Road, Newberry Springs.
This event is an excellent opportunity for residents to dispose of bulky items, trash, electronic waste, and tires at no cost. It is specifically for residents in unincorporated areas of San Bernardino County. Commercial or industrial waste from businesses will not be accepted.
What Services Are Available?
- Bulky Trash Collection – Large disposal containers will be available for accumulated household trash, bulky items, green waste, and vehicle tires.
- Confidential Document Shredding – Residents can securely shred personal documents on-site. (No business materials; shredding ends at 12:00 PM or when the truck is full.)
- Electronic Waste Collection – The Urban Conservation Corps will be accepting items such as televisions, computer monitors, VCRs, stereos, and cell phones.
- Free Compost Pickup – Compost will be available at no cost; residents must bring their own containers and shovels and load it themselves.
Guidelines for Participation
To ensure a smooth and efficient event, residents must follow these guidelines:
* Limited to Unincorporated Residents – Only residents in unincorporated San Bernardino County are eligible to participate.
* Secure Your Load – All materials should be properly secured and covered before transport.
* Tire Disposal Restrictions – A maximum of 9 tires per vehicle is allowed. Tires on rims will be accepted. State law prohibits hauling more than 9 tires without an exemption.
* Self-Unloading Required – Residents must unload their own waste materials. Oversized or difficult-to-handle loads may be turned away.

What Items Are NOT Accepted?
- Concrete
- Hazardous Waste such as:
- Motor oil and oil filters
- Antifreeze, gasoline, and drain cleaners
- Pesticides, fertilizers, and fluorescent lights
- Pool and hobby supplies
- Auto or furniture polish
- Paint thinners, paint products, varnishes, and medications
