San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and Solid Waste Management Divisions are teaming up to host a free community clean-up event for residents living in unincorporated areas of the county.
On Saturday, August 2, from 8 a.m. to noon (or until collection bins are full), residents can dispose of a variety of unwanted items at Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware (32946 CA-18, Lucerne Valley).
What You Can Bring:
- Household trash and bulky waste
- Green waste (yard clippings, branches, etc.)
- Tires (limit nine per vehicle, with or without rims; per state law, more than nine requires a special exemption—call ahead for details)
- Electronics: TVs, monitors, VCRs, stereos, cell phones, and more (accepted by the Urban Conservation Corps)
- Confidential documents for on-site shredding
Important Guidelines:
- Unincorporated County Residents Only – No commercial or business waste allowed.
- No Hazardous Waste – This includes motor oil, antifreeze, paint, pesticides, fluorescent bulbs, batteries, chemicals, medications, and similar items.
- No Concrete Accepted
- All loads must be safely secured and covered before traveling.
- You are responsible for unloading your own materials.
- Oversized or difficult-to-handle loads may be turned away and directed to alternate disposal options at your own cost.
