The Mountain Top Ranger District of the U.S. Forest Service – San Bernardino National Forest will conduct a prescribed burn on the Grass Valley project, provided all conditions are favorable for burning.
Firefighters will be starting in the forest west of Grandview Elementary School in Twin Peaks, CA. Once this area is completed the firefighters will be moving north on the Grass Valley project.
Firefighters will start the burn Wednesday, April 24 and continue through Tuesday, April 30. Smoke will most likely be visible in some areas. Residents should know that firefighters will be monitoring the burn throughout the process.
This prescribed burn is part of the Grass Valley Project, a community defense and forest health project that the Forest Service has been conducting with help from the San Bernardino County Fire Department and CAL FIRE.
