Residents of unincorporated Wonder Valley will have an opportunity to take part in a free community cleanup on Saturday, December 6, from 8:00 a.m. to noon (or earlier if equipment fills up). The event will take place at the Wonder Valley Community Center, 80526 Amboy Road, in Twentynine Palms.

Hosted by San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and the Solid Waste Management Division, this event allows residents to dispose of bulky trash, tires, e-waste, and other accumulated waste at no cost. The goal is to help residents keep neighborhoods clean and beautiful while promoting environmental responsibility across the High Desert.

What You Can Bring

Accepted materials include:

  • Household trash
  • Bulky items (such as furniture or appliances)
  • Green waste
  • Vehicle tires (limit of nine per load; tires on rims are accepted)

The Urban Conservation Corps will be on-site to collect electronic waste, including TVs, computer monitors, stereos, VCRs, and cell phones. In addition, free compost will be available to residents — participants must bring their own containers and shovels.

What’s Not Accepted

Crews will not accept hazardous waste at this event. That includes items such as motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline, batteries, pesticides, fluorescent bulbs, paint, and similar materials. For proper disposal of hazardous waste, residents can contact the County’s Household Hazardous Waste Program at 1-800-OILY-CAT (1-800-645-9228) or (909) 382-5401 for drop-off locations and times.
