The San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs Department continues its commitment to supporting veterans, active-duty service members, and their families. The department’s accredited Veteran Service Officers help connect local veterans and their families with important federal and state benefits earned through military service, including disability compensation, pension programs, healthcare enrollment, education benefits, housing assistance, employment resources, counseling services, and mental health support. Visit va.sbcounty.gov to learn more about all of the support services available.

In addition, monthly outreach visits help make assistance more accessible for veterans in the High Desert and Morongo Basin. Veteran Service Officers visit Joshua Tree on the second Wednesday of each month and Barstow on the third Thursday of each month, providing personalized support closer to home for veterans seeking assistance with benefits, healthcare enrollment, pension programs, education services, and other resources. Information about both outreach visits is available on the Third District website or by clicking the highlighted community names above.

Veterans across San Bernardino County also have access to a growing network of community events and support programs designed to connect them with local resources. One of the largest upcoming events is the 3rd Annual B.R.A.V.E. Veterans Luncheon and Resource Day on Saturday, June 6, at Arrowhead United Way in San Bernardino. The event will offer a free luncheon, care packages, housing and employment support services, free haircuts and grooming, and a wide variety of community resources while bringing together local leaders, nonprofit organizations, and veteran support agencies. Event details can be found on Facebook.
