San Bernardino County Veterans Affairs is dedicated to helping veterans and their families access the benefits they’ve earned through their service. From disability compensation and pension programs to education assistance and VA healthcare enrollment, the department offers a wide range of services tailored to meet the needs of those who served.

Comprehensive Services for Veterans
The department’s knowledgeable Veteran Service Officers (VSOs) provide high-quality representation and guidance to help veterans access:

  • Disability compensation for service-related injuries.
  • Pension benefits for veterans with non-service-connected disabilities.
  • Education benefits, including California College Fee Waivers.
  • Enrollment in VA healthcare and medical treatment.
  • Home loan benefits through VA and CalVet.
  • Burial benefits and military records assistance.

Additional support includes help with California Veterans ID cards, license plates, and employment resources, as well as specialized programs like Agent Orange benefits and small business assistance.

Local Access for Morongo Basin Veterans
To make services more accessible, the County Veterans Affairs office visits Joshua Tree on the second Wednesday of each month. These monthly visits provide Morongo Basin veterans with in-person access to a VSO who can assist with claims, questions, and navigating available benefits.

The next visit is scheduled for Wednesday, March 12, at the San Bernardino County Government Center, located at 6527 White Feather Road, Joshua Tree. Veterans and their families are encouraged to attend to receive personalized assistance.

Can’t Make It In Person?
Veterans can also access support through the department’s call-in service. Same-day phone interviews with a VSO are available Monday through Friday, from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., by calling 909-382-3290.
