At a press conference on Thursday, September 12, San Bernardino County District Attorney Jason Anderson announced nine charges against Justin Halstenberg of Norco, who is suspected of starting the devastating Line Fire. Arson investigators believe that the blaze was intentionally set a week earlier near the intersection of Base Line and Alpin in Highland. It has since consumed over 37,000 acres and has forced thousands of residents from their homes.
In a statement, Supervisor Rowe said, “I’m incredibly grateful to have a District Attorney and Sheriff who are willing to prosecute this suspect to the greatest extent the law will allow.”
