The Department of Public Works – Special Districts is proud to announce the completion of the CSA 20 Joshua Tree Community Center Door Replacement Project, an important improvement that enhances safety, accessibility, and convenience for everyone who visits the facility.
The project replaced aging commercial door systems at both the east and west entrances to the Community Center. Crews removed the existing 6-foot-wide door assemblies and completed new framing modifications, electrical upgrades, and finish repairs to support the installation of modern automatic entry systems.
Visitors will now benefit from two upgraded entrances designed to improve accessibility and ease of use. The east entrance features a new automatic single-slide door system, while the west entrance is equipped with an automatic bi-part telescopic door system that includes emergency breakout capability for safe egress. Together, these improvements provide smoother access for residents while bringing the facility up to modern standards.
Construction was carefully phased to minimize disruptions and ensure the Community Center remained open throughout the project. Scheduled community programs, events, and voting activities continued without interruption, allowing residents to access the facility while improvements were underway.
This project reflects San Bernardino County’s ongoing commitment to investing in community facilities that are safe, functional, and accessible for all.
