Restaurant owners and food service operators are encouraged to participate in the San Bernardino County Department of Public Health’s free monthly L.E.A.R.N. (Liaison Education And Risk Network) classes. These valuable sessions cover the essentials of Active Managerial Control and the Center for Disease Control’s five key risk factors that contribute to foodborne illnesses.
L.E.A.R.N. aims to educate anyone involved in food preparation, service, or handling on best practices to minimize the risks of foodborne illness. Attendees will also have the chance to network with industry peers and stay informed on the latest food safety topics. Each class runs approximately 2 hours.
Safe food handling is crucial to prevent contamination and protect public health, making it a vital responsibility for anyone in the food industry. Proper training ensures that food is prepared and served in a manner that minimizes the risk of illness.
