Residents of San Bernardino County’s unincorporated areas are invited to take part in a FREE outdoor cleanup event designed to help dispose of unwanted items safely and responsibly.

Event Details

When: Saturday, January 17, 2026
Time: 8:00 a.m. – Noon (or earlier if containers fill)
Where: 25133 W. Main Street, Barstow, CA
(Vacant lot west of Lenwood Market)

Please note: Services are available until noon or until containers reach capacity, whichever comes first.

San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and Solid Waste Management will be on site providing bulky trash containers, electronic waste collection, tire disposal, and on-site confidential document shredding—all at no cost to eligible residents.


What You Can Bring

The following items will be accepted:

  • Household trash
  • Bulky items
  • Green waste
  • Vehicle tires (limit of 9 tires per vehicle; tires on rims are accepted)
  • Electronics, including TVs, computer monitors, VCRs, stereos, cell phones, and more (accepted by the Urban Conservation Corps)
  • Confidential documents for on-site shredding

Concrete is not accepted.


Important Guidelines

  • This event is for unincorporated county residents only
  • No commercial or business waste will be accepted
  • Residents must unload their own materials
  • Loads must be safely secured and properly covered
  • Oversized, loose, or difficult-to-handle loads may be turned away and must be disposed of at the resident’s expense

Hazardous Waste Notice

Hazardous waste will NOT be accepted, including but not limited to:

  • Household or auto batteries
  • Motor oil, oil filters, antifreeze, gasoline
  • Paint, paint thinners, pesticides, fertilizers
  • Fluorescent lights, pool or hobby chemicals
  • Medications, drain cleaners, or similar products
