San Bernardino County residents in the unincorporated Lucerne Valley area are invited to participate in a free Community Cleanup on Saturday, Aug. 1.
San Bernardino County Land Use Services Code Enforcement and the Solid Waste Management Division will provide bulky trash collection containers for the free disposal of accumulated trash, e-waste and tires. The cleanup is limited to residents of unincorporated County areas, and no business or commercial waste will be accepted.
The event will take place from 8 a.m. to noon, or earlier if the equipment fills up, at Lucerne Valley Market & Hardware, 32946 CA-18 in Lucerne Valley. Participants are required to unload their own materials.
What Can Be Accepted?
Residents may bring household trash, bulky items, green waste and vehicle tires. No more than nine tires per person will be accepted, and rims will be accepted. The Urban Conservation Corps will also be on site to accept electronic waste, including TVs, computer monitors, VCRs, stereos and cell phones.
The event cannot accept hazardous waste, including household and automotive batteries, motor oil and filters, antifreeze, gasoline, pesticides, fertilizers, fluorescent lights, wood preservatives, pool and hobby supplies, auto or furniture polish, paint thinner, paint products and medications.
