If a new job or career change is on your radar, now is the time to start preparing. The Barstow Hiring Event is coming up Thursday, Oct. 15, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Harvey House, 685 N. 1st Ave. in Barstow, giving job seekers an opportunity to meet employers, explore available positions and make valuable career connections.
With the event just a few weeks away, prospective applicants can use the time to update their résumé or CV, gather references, review their employment history and prepare to speak with hiring representatives about their experience and career goals. Bringing several copies of an updated résumé can help job seekers make the most of conversations with employers. All job seekers are welcome, whether they are looking for their first job, considering a career change or ready for their next opportunity.
The event will also bring several helpful County services together in one location. The Assessor-Recorder-County Clerk Mobile Unit will offer birth, death and marriage certificates, copies, notary services, public filings, fictitious business name statements and assessor property information for San Bernardino County. Representatives from the San Bernardino County Public Defender’s Office will also be available to provide information and assistance with beginning the record-clearing process.
The hiring event is presented in partnership with Third District Supervisor Dawn Rowe, San Bernardino County Workforce Development, the Public Defender’s Office, the City of Barstow and the Barstow Area Chamber of Commerce. Advance registration is encouraged, so don’t wait until the morning of the event to start getting ready. A little preparation now can help you arrive ready to introduce yourself, ask questions and make a strong first impression.
