It’s never too late to finish your high school education. Through the Career Online High School (COHS) program, eligible adults can earn an accredited high school diploma and a career certificate—completely online and at no cost through scholarships available at the San Bernardino County Library.
Career Online High School is a California State Library initiative designed to help adults achieve their educational and career goals. The flexible online format allows students to complete coursework on their own schedule, making it ideal for those balancing work, family, or other responsibilities.
What Is Career Online High School?
Career Online High School is an accredited online education program that gives eligible adults the opportunity to earn:
- An accredited high school diploma accepted by colleges nationwide
- An industry-recognized career certificate
- Transferable credits that may be accepted by colleges
- Personalized support from academic coaches throughout the program
Students complete their coursework entirely online, allowing them to learn anytime and anywhere with an internet connection.
Available Through the San Bernardino County Library
The San Bernardino County Library administers the Career Online High School program for the entire county library system. All 32 San Bernardino County Library locations serve as access points where residents can learn about the program, ask questions, and receive assistance.
Scholarship administration, enrollment, and student success coaching are coordinated centrally to ensure students receive consistent support throughout their educational journey.
Residents are automatically connected to the appropriate participating library through a statewide geofencing system, ensuring they receive services from the library that serves their community.
Scholarships Available
Career Online High School is free for qualified adults through scholarships provided by the California State Library.
Each year, the California State Library determines how many scholarships are available to participating public library systems. Because scholarships are limited, interested residents are encouraged to apply as soon as possible.
