Joshua Tree residents, mark your calendars! On Saturday, October 26, from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (or earlier if containers fill up), you’ll have a chance to clean up your homes and yards during a community-wide Neighborhood Clean-Up event. The event will be held at Sportsmans Park, located at 6171 Sunburst St., Joshua Tree, CA 92252.

San Bernardino County Code Enforcement, in partnership with Solid Waste Management Divisions, is providing large containers for the free disposal of household waste, bulky items, green waste, and vehicle tires. The Urban Conservation Corps will also be on-site to collect e-waste, including TVs, computer monitors, cell phones, microwaves, and other electronics.

Key Services:

  • Bulky Trash Collection: Dispose of household waste, green waste, bulky items, and tires (including those on rims).
  • E-Waste Collection: The Urban Conservation Corps will accept electronics such as TVs, computer monitors, VCRs, stereos, microwaves, and cell phones.
  • Free Compost: Compost will be available at no charge! Bring your own containers and shovels to load up.
  • Confidential Document Shredding: On-site shredding will be available for residents of unincorporated areas (no business materials).

Please Note:

  • No Household Hazardous Waste: Items like motor oil, gasoline, paint, and other hazardous materials will not be accepted. For more information on hazardous waste disposal, contact the Household Hazardous Waste Program at 1-800-645-9228.
  • Tire Limits: You may bring up to 9 tires, and tires on rims will be accepted. (State law prohibits hauling more than 9 tires without an exemption.)
  • Secure Your Load: Ensure that all waste is securely covered and tied down before transporting it to the event.
  • Oversized or Hard-to-Handle Loads: If you are bringing particularly large or difficult-to-manage waste, you may be turned away and directed to dispose of those items at your own expense.

This is a fantastic opportunity to clean up your property and safely dispose of unwanted items at no cost. Let’s keep Joshua Tree clean and beautiful—see you on October 26 at Sportsmans Park!
