On March 19, Supervisor Rowe participated in the groundbreaking ceremony for the new Valley Communications Center in San Bernardino, a pivotal project that will enhance public safety in our community.
Once completed, this impressive 75,000-square-foot facility will serve as the central hub for emergency communications for essential services, including the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, County Fire, the Office of Emergency Management, CONFIRE, and Inland Counties Emergency Medical Agency. This consolidation effort represents a significant step in streamlining emergency response efforts, bringing together various departments under one roof for improved coordination and efficiency.
When completed, the Valley Communications Center will replace the current communications center at Rialto Airport, offering self-support and self-sufficiency to ensure operational continuity during any crisis. This mission-critical facility, designed to withstand extreme conditions, will serve as the primary Emergency Operation Center in the San Bernardino Valley, operating 24/7 to safeguard residents and facilitate practical emergency response efforts.
