On Saturday, June 10, five members of the Third District staff–AKA Team Rowe–took part in the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Athletic Federation Mud Run. Hundreds of runners and walkers took to the hills and canyons surrounding the Sheriff’s Training Academy in Devore to complete the three-mile course. The cooler-than-average temperatures and a misty morning did not hamper the event or lessen the runners’ enthusiasm. After all, they were there to play in the mud and help support the Cannonball Memorial Run.
According to their website, “the Cannonball Memorial Run has a strong determination to fully fund the immediate relief fund and provide $10,000 to the family of each fallen officer within 24-48 hours of the fallen officer’s death. That goal is fully attainable through the help of each and every law enforcement officer across this great Country!”
Proceeds raised by the annual Mud Run go directly to the Cannonball Memorial Run and will provide financial assistance to law enforcement families in their time of need. You can learn more about how to help the project at CannonballMemorialRun.org. The Sheriff’s Athletic Federation is always looking for new partners and sponsors. Please find out more on their website, Facebook, and Instagram.
Thanks to everyone who ran, walked, and crawled through the mud for the families of law enforcement officers, deputies, and their administrative staff. Hope to see you at the Mud Run next year!
