The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department continued its proactive approach to crime suppression with a series of coordinated efforts under Operation Consequences, strongly impacting several communities between March 21 and March 30, 2025. Significant enforcement took place in the mountain communities of Lake Arrowhead and Crestline, as well as in the city of Highland, all within the County’s Third District.

On March 21, investigators with the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division and Specialized Enforcement Division, joined by multiple local and state law enforcement partners, launched a one-day sweep focused on Highland and nearby areas. Law enforcement teams served six search warrants in Highland and San Bernardino, targeting individuals involved in gang activity or prohibited from owning firearms.

This concentrated effort led to 21 felony arrests and 61 misdemeanor arrests in a single day. Investigators recovered five firearms, along with useable quantities of suspected methamphetamine and fentanyl. Deputies made over 400 public contacts, and 14 traffic citations were issued.

Crucially, the operation also addressed the needs of unhoused individuals. With assistance from the Sheriff’s Homeless Outreach Proactive Enforcement (H.O.P.E.) Team deputies offered resources such as substance abuse treatment, mental health services, and medical care. Of the arrests made during the Highland sweep, 30 involved unhoused individuals detained for offenses ranging from trespassing and possession of narcotics to outstanding warrants.

Following the Highland operation, deputies continued targeted suppression activities between March 24 and March 30 in Lake Arrowhead, Crestline, and Fontana. Investigators served four additional search warrants and made contact with multiple suspects, including gang members and individuals prohibited from possessing firearms.

In Lake Arrowhead, deputies executed a search warrant in the 26000 block of Augusta Way, while in Crestline, the team served a warrant in the 24000 block of Scenic View Drive. These actions led to multiple arrests, the recovery of four firearms, and the seizure of illegal narcotics. Across all locations, including two in Fontana, 12 felony arrests and six misdemeanor arrests were made.

Operation Consequences is made possible through funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors. It supports enhanced law enforcement services aimed at improving the quality of life throughout the region. The operation is designed to curb violent crime, dismantle street gangs, and prevent illegal firearms trafficking.

The California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino County Probation, U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and municipal police departments from Barstow, Upland, Rialto, Fontana, and Montclair join the Sheriff’s Department in these efforts.

As Operation Consequences continues in the weeks ahead, residents can expect a sustained and visible law enforcement presence across the county—including rural, mountain, and urban communities—all working together to keep San Bernardino County safe.
