Mountains Community Hospital is kicking off the new year with a simple but powerful act of kindness: a winter coat and shoe drive to support patients who may need a little extra help during the colder months.
Winter in the mountains isn’t just chilly—it can be downright unforgiving. Reliable coats and sturdy shoes aren’t luxuries here; they’re necessities. That’s why Mountains Community Hospital is inviting the community to donate new or gently used coats and shoes to help ensure patients leave the hospital with more than medical care—they leave with warmth, dignity, and support.
Donations can be dropped off directly at the Emergency Department, where staff often see firsthand how health and basic needs are deeply connected. A warm jacket or a good pair of shoes can make a real difference in recovery, safety, and peace of mind—especially for those navigating winter weather in mountain communities.
As we head into the new year, this drive is a reminder that caring for one another doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s as simple as cleaning out a closet and sharing what you have. These small acts add up, strengthening the fabric of our community and helping neighbors weather the season a little more comfortably.
Thank you for helping keep our mountain community warm. Your kindness truly makes a meaningful difference.
