San Bernardino County crews are rolling back into the High Desert — this time in Johnson Valley — with another free community cleanup on Saturday, December 13, at the Johnson Valley Improvement Association, 50567A Quail Bush Road in Johnson Valley.

Hosted by San Bernardino County Code Enforcement and the Solid Waste Management Division, the event gives residents a convenient way to clear out bulky trash, tires, e-waste, and accumulated debris — all at no cost. These recurring cleanups are part of the County’s ongoing effort to help residents keep their neighborhoods clean while protecting the desert environment.

What You Can Bring

Accepted materials include:

  • Household trash
  • Bulky items such as furniture and appliances
  • Green waste
  • Vehicle tires (maximum of nine per load; tires on rims are accepted)

The Urban Conservation Corps will be on-site accepting electronic waste, including TVs, monitors, stereo equipment, VCRs, and cell phones. Free compost will also be available — attendees must bring their own containers and shovels.

What’s Not Accepted

Hazardous waste will not be accepted, including:

  • Motor oil, antifreeze, gasoline
  • Batteries, pesticides
  • Fluorescent bulbs, paint, and similar materials

For proper disposal, residents can contact the County’s Household Hazardous Waste Program at 1-800-OILY-CAT (1-800-645-9228) or (909) 382-5401 for drop-off locations and hours.

Important Notes

  • Open to residents of unincorporated San Bernardino County only
  • No commercial or industrial waste
  • Residents must unload their own materials
  • All loads must be securely covered
  • Tires are limited to nine per load, per state law
