This fall, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department will continue its popular “Lady Be Aware” training sessions. This comprehensive, one-day, eight-hour course is designed to equip women with the knowledge, skills, and mindset needed to protect themselves from potential threats to their personal safety.

The first half of the course is classroom-based, covering essential topics such as cyber safety, home safety, and situational awareness. Participants will learn to recognize and avoid potential dangers in various environments. The second half involves hands-on training, including weaponless defensive tactics and an introduction to handling firearms.

Upcoming classes are scheduled on:

  • Saturday, September 21
  • Sunday, September 29
  • Saturday, October 12
  • Saturday, October 26

Each session runs from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Sheriff’s Department Training Center, 18901 Institution Road in Devore. The course is open to women aged 16 and older; those under 18 can enroll with a guardian. The cost of the training is $75 per person.
